Cover mailed from Guanajuato to Guadalajara on October 10, 1871. It
travelled on the Diligencias (stagecoach) between the two addresses. |
 |
| The thing that makes this folded letter
interesting is that the two stamps, a 12 centavo and 25 centavo stamp,
bear two different district name overprints. The 12 centavo stamp bears
a wider and shorter overprint than the 25 centavo stamp. |
 |
| La Luz, a small sub-office of Guanajuato,
cover mailed to Mexico City and bearing a 25 centavo stamp to cover the
distance. |
 |
| A single and pair of 12 centavo stamps
pays the rate for additional weight from Villa de Santiago (a Guanajuato
sub-office) to Guanajuato. |
